Learn to practice vipassana, the oldest form of Buddhist meditation from which modern mindfulness practice is derived. By training awareness of breath, body, sound, and mental activity, one can develop clear-seeing, or insight, about the nature of reality. Scientifically-proven benefits of the practice include lowering stress, increasing focus, regulating emotions, and boosting immunity. No meditation experience is necessary. Though rooted in the Buddhist tradition, this is a nonsectarian class open to anyone interested in living authentically. Class sessions will feature guided meditation, short talks or discussion, moving meditation, and silent meditation.
