Niki began her yoga journey at an Iyengar studio in Atlanta in 1999. Yoga became a life-long pursuit, and a touchstone that eventually led to teacher training at The Center Yoga Studio under the teaching of Suzanne Perrine. A self-described “cusser and a crier,” Niki’s practice and teachings are authentic, raw and honest. Her extensive training in the mental health field informs her approach of self-acceptance and finding grace for ourselves, both on and off the mat. In class, you can expect to move, breathe, flow, laugh, and perhaps be inspired by a memorable playlist. She strongly believes yoga is the most intelligent medicine around and wants the world to know that it truly is for everyBODY and ability level. Her message: “Show up. Show up messy; show up anyway. Just show up; perfectly imperfect…precisely as you are.”
Niki is also a Reiki practitioner, utilizing Usui and Holy Fire Reiki modalities, and a yoga instructor with training in trauma-sensitive care, kundalini, hatha, vinyasa, gentle and restorative modalities.
Niki is certified in CPR, first aid, Mental Health First Aid USA, ASIST (Applied Suicide Interventions Skills Training), Mindfulness Meditation, is a registered Medication Technician, has studied/certified in RRSR (Recognizing and Responding to Suicide Risk), Crisis Intervention, and is a qualified mental health professional. Her hope is to give all participants the experience of feeling safe in their bodies, to share a few tools to help in any mental health scenario and to leave them feeling accepted, relaxed, grounded and embodied.
